Our programs extend far beyond the classroom and provide children with everything they need as they grow into mature, dignified adults.

Migdal Ohr’s staff, teachers, and dorm parents are experienced with trauma and treat each child with the kind of deep respect, love, and tenderness that you would hope for them.

Post high school, we offer mentorship, job training, and social services to ensure that our alumni establish strong families, succeed in the workplace, and contribute to society at large.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Migdal Ohr’s mission?

Migdal Ohr means "tower of light" in Hebrew and is one of Israel’s largest and most impactful nonprofits. We have raised over 15,000 of Israel’s most vulnerable youth to become thriving, successful adults. We give children the support and education they lack to overcome socio-economic barriers and realize their full potential.

Migdal Ohr was established in 1972 by Israel Prize Winner Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Grossman to ensure that each of Israel’s orphaned, abused, and neglected children would have a bright future, regardless of where they came from. Decades later, we are just as fervently committed to the mission and dedicated to strengthening Israel’s next generation from the ground up.
